My son Jesse asked me once if that feeling ever goes away , my reply was " I hope not".
Congratulations now you know what its all about.

Great to hear Liz, and well written. And your first season hunting, to boot! Always good to hear about your journey.

Thanks everyone!!  Been so busy, between work and hunting, and just outdoor activity in general!!  Yeah, Russ, I stayed close to that stand just in case!!!  Hahahahaha!!  Got another taste of that adrenaline a couple of weekends ago.  My buddy was hunting in his stand across the field from me and had his binos, and as soon as I felt my phone buzz I knew to be on alert!!  Instant rush, heart racing, had to work to calm down-had 2 deer come within 30 yards of me, but again, wasn't a good shot, so I didn't take it, but had an absolute blast!!  I will be patient, my time for a deer will come! Just got back from the mountains, next trip will be in January to hog hunt!!  Can't wait!!  My life continues to move and I am still enjoying every moment!!  WOO!  YEEEHAW!!  LOL

Chuck, you've put it in a nutshell. It's a feeling only we, who choose to hunt with these "primitive" sticks and strings, and whose intent is to kill a wild animal at distances of mere feet, will ever get to experience. I'm almost 73 and still get excited when only does show up. A truly mystical event. I really feel sorry for those who never will.
Way to go girl. Hope the feeling never leaves you.

Hi, Liz! It is good to read that you are still having these positive hunting experiences. Pretty soon we'll be seeing the hero pics from you. I look forward to seeing you at some of the TBG shoots this spring. I hope you all had a very nice Christmas.
