Went to the big sporting goods store in Clair Mi. today .
Found a very nice hunting chair that gives me good support for my back .
I later was looking around in the archery shop and looked in the range .
There was a young man about 12-13 years old shooting a recurve .
I stopped to watch and possibly give some pointers if he needed .
No need , he was putting the arrows right where they needed to go , in spite of the arrows being the wrong spine .

Is the one right off the freeway? If so went in there to have lunch on way back to Chicago from UP. Bought a Fedora which I still use when it is cool. These days I am 15 minutes from Ca..... in Glendale, AZ. But I must be getting old, have wondered around and walked out with nothing but Fduge candy.

I've been to both the big stores in Nebraska, and the ones in Hamburg, PA, Wheeling, WV, and Cheektowaga, NY.  I wish I had M60gunners will power.  I never leave without buying something I don't need.  As I tell the wife, must keep the economy going.   :bigsmyl:

This store is not the one your thinking of. This one is "Jay's Sporting Goods". There are two of them. And yes they compare to the big stores your thinking of.I never buy anything I don't need. Sometimes I buy stuff for someday maybe though.

Wow , this thread sure wandered off from how neat it was to see a youngster shooting trad .    :readit:

I remember Jay's from way back 30+ years ago. Glad to hear they are still in business and even more glad that there was a kid shooting a recurve there.

My family and I stopped there at Jays in Sept on our way back home from vaca, loved the store, the  Bear bows on the wall were great to see.

I was at my son's football game last friday. Started talking hunting with a kid that was 16-17 yrs old that was wearing a jacket with an Ohio Trappers Association on the back.He pulled out his fancy cell phone -n- started showing pics. Then pulled up a couple videos of him and some buddies shooting recurves at various targets including thrown -n- rolled ones to represent birds -n- rabbits. Was nice to see.

Love Jay's, I get up that way once or twice a year. There used to be a guy in the archery department that hunted with a Bob Lee TD longbow. First time in there they had a whole rack full of traditional bows on clearance, wish I could go back in time, crazy low prices on some of em. Think they were used, haven't seen that again...
