Congrats everyone. I finally had a chance to get out and hunt here in NY.  I shot this nice doe this morning. She should be fantastic table fare. Not much of a story. She came to about 10 yards and gave me a good shot. I thought I hit a bit back and backed out till about noon. She only went about 80 yards. Stalker Coyote and Snuffer head.
Ha Terry, are you SURE that you didn't let loose on one of those big Northerns that we saw on the Mowhawk??  Congrats on the Doe!!!

3 hour sit this evening, bumped a deer going in but that was the only action. Really quiet in the woods......

Congrats Glen, nice buck.

Yesterday morning, I had a  coyote come through, big ole dog but he was out of range.  I really felt good about this spot.  I put my buddy 50 yards from me in another tree I was considering and the wind worked for both of the trees.

He saw 2 bucks, one really nice 8 point he said.  I couldnt see them.

The leaves were falling constantly and it was just beautiful.

I had a  hunter come through at 7:30, tree stand to his back and he sounded like an army coming. I could hear him from a long ways off.  when he finally heard me whistling at him and finally saw me waving my hat, I could see the sweat dripping off his face.  he made a semi circle around me and out of site.

Later I learned his group was doing deer drives. Also I found what I had thought was an un-hunted and undisturbed spot (last year it was, probably why there was so much deer sign there last winter), had a brand new tree stand 25 yards from my set. I found 5 more of this guys tree stands on the way out.

I spent this afternoon scouting another piece of state forest that is loaded with acorns.  The foliage is peak and the weather is summer-like.  I ended up finding a few really good spots and saw 9 deer.  None were close enough for a shot but I did manage to get a shot at a tree rat.  Great confidence booster.   Overall it was a great day in God's creation.

Looks like rain until Sunday in WNY.I won't go out with a bow in the rain except when on an expensive out of state hunt.I just don't like the poor tracking ability. Any of you getting out ?
