So I had my daughter check my draw several times as I drew to anchor with my two point anchor middle finger corner of mouth my first knuckle of my thumb behind my jaw under my ear. I was consistently drawing 30" had a couple just a tad longer.

My question is I would like to look at bows both recurve and lonbows/hybrids that will accomdate my draw length. The catch I would prefer to stay 60" or below but would consider a 62" bow.

Thanks for any suggestions. I am currently shooting a Robertson Primal styk 66" 56#@28 so pulling around 60# roughly. Great shooting bow but looking for a shorter bow for my line up. probably going a little lighter poundage but that is a diffrent subject.

So lets hear your suggestions for short bows for longer draws.

I owned a 58" Black Widow PCH and I draw that style bow to 29" and it was great.  The 60" would be great for a 30" draw, if that is the style bow you like.

I have a 29" DL, and have yet to find a bow under 60" that I like and can shoot well. That's just me though. I hope you find something that works well for you.

I'm shooting a 52 inch d and r that I just designed at 28 inches and no stack to 28 1/2. Its becoming my favorite bow. Pretty sure in the 54 inch it would make 30 although I never tried it yet. Buttttt. Should be no problem for you to find a bow that would work for you under 60 inches.
God bless and good luck, Steve

I draw 31" and have never been able to shoot short bows.  At Compton this year, I shot a 62" Java Man Assyrian (a static recurve), and was very impressed with its smoothness and shootability at my draw.  I was so impressed that I decided to purchase one, and expect to have a new one of my own at this time next year.

A 60" Assyrian would likely be a very comfortable bow at a 30"+ draw.  You could contact Greg at Java Man bows for further information.
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

I bought a used 60"  big foot sasquatch hybrid that the original owner had built at 62@32!!  I shoot it at 30" draw and it is one of my favorite bows. SS

56" Toelke Pika will di it, I draw right at 30" too, my anchor sounds similiar to yours.

Ron's 56"-60" Shrews worked well for my 29" draw !!!

I shoot a 62" Toelke Whip and draw 32". Now mind you this is an older version, and Dan redesigned the limbs a couple years back. But I know he could set you up with something that works.

I have a 29 1/2" draw and shoot a 60" Bear Kodiak Hunter and Super Kodiak OK, but some 60" bows I've shot stack badly.  I personally don't want anything shorter than 60".

I think you can find quite a few bows from 56 to 60 inches that will handle your 30 inch draw.

I would be looking at forward handled/shorter riser longbows with good reflex deflex.Like Shrews,Javaman,Toelke Pika,Big Jims Thunderchild and others like it.60 inch Centaur would be fine IMO.Thier are many. Some of these bows have a good string angle at full draw so you wont get much finger pinch

The same goes for recurves.Forward handle and or highly deflexed risers.Shorter riser for more working limb.Javaman Assyrian,Shrew and bows like it.Or bows like Widows in the PTF,KB or PA series.

In a 3 Piece bows you can find 60 inchers.Look at  bows with deflexed risers and shorter risers.Like a 60 inch Widow PCH or Morrison Archery's Cheyenne A sized riser paired with his D length limbs

If you want one that will work for sure, talk to a bowyer, I have longer draw than you and have found some 60" bows that i can draw and some others that need to be at least 64"! Big Jim Thunderchild might be a good match for what you are desiring!

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

I draw the 54" Elkheart in my signature to 28" with absolutely no stacking and it is smooth as can be. I'm sure a bit longer one would serve you well.

I draw a full 31 inches with lighter weight bows and my draw compacts to closer to 30 inches at around 55 pounds actual...I shoot a 52 inch 1962 Kodiak Magnum quite nicely...Bear rated these bows for up to 31 inches...I think I have at least a dozen bows that are 60 inches or shorter...I have not done inventory lately...oh yeah and my Bear Takedown A riser with a set of No. 3 and a set of No. 1 limbs should be here tomorrow...those bows would be 60 and 56 inches

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

Arctic Hunter

I shoot a 60" PSA with a 30.5" draw. I've owned 2 60" PSA's and a 58" CH without any issues (except the shorter sight window on the CH).

Big Jim Thunderchild ... I had a 56" and my long draw hunting partner had no issues shooting it and it did Zing an arrow    :scared:
