I must have accidentally found the humor forum - no one has a new Asbell pullover and doesn't take it elk hunting!

The windproof jacket could come in handy in the mountains. If you're base camping take both. I've seen some serious temp swings and weather changes up there. You could end up wearing both at the same time. Good luck!

That's funny.  I was thinking along the same lines.

Man was just doing some window drooling over those pullovers.  I got to get me one of them.

Wifey and I have already agreed, a half-zip will be my early Christmas gift from her.  Gets her off the hook, gets me what I would get anyway, and keeps her calm about me saying "don't get me anything."

Jeez, I need a tutorial and Cliff notes on TG technology - I can't even quote someone properly!

I'd go fleece in the mountains.  Lighter and dries faster.

Asbell wool pullover!!! I have 2, hoodless pull over and at Denton Hill i got their new Pathfinder and can't wait till its cold enough to put it on!

Wool, wool, wool. Did I mention wool? I am going to call Teresa and get my fourth pullover from her.
If you don't like cops, next time you need help, call Al Sharpton

Gdpolk

I would take both in all honesty.  Wool would be better around the camp and is natually fire spark/ember retardant whereas your NatGear fleece will look like swiss cheese if you toss another log on the fire wrong.  However, the Asbell wool is not very wind resistant and if you get a strong and chilly wind you'll be wishing you had the fleece.  For that reason I'd rock the wool at camp and the fleece on the hunt.  If there's a MAJOR temperature swing you could double them up.  I can't imagine you'd be upset either way by bringing both and keep in mind that I'm not the kind of guy to bring everything and the kitchen sink.

GDpolk x2. I've seen firsthand the results of fleece and campfires.

bring a cheap windbreaker and wear it under the wool when the wind picks up. If i were going camping in the mountains I wouldn't skimp out on bringing warm layers. As others have said weather changes can be fast and severe up there. At least that has been my experience in the rockies, not sure where you are headed but good luck  :)

too bad you didn't have a asbell vest it would be perfect with the fleece coat
