I am very fond of my Buck Alpha PBS folding knife.
It has a locking 3" blade, and a locking 3" combo gut hook/saw blade. Always in my pocket come hunting season. Very strong, sharp and reliable.

Leatherman Wave, versatile quality with a great warranty and many of the tools you'd ever need for many situations.

Another vote for the leatherman wave here. That paired with a stout fixed blade like and esee or buck and there is nothing you can't handle.

Roadkill

Swiss army every day.  Puma Pal for belt knife when hunting.  Like you all, I have too many knives...will not get rid of any

For a knife in my pocket I tend to gravitate to an assisted opening lock blade with a 2-1/2" blade. I my pack there's always a 3-3-1/2" fixed blade

My edc knife is a cold steel spartan. Huge folder with a thick blade. Comes in at a great price point too!

I agree with Stumpkiller and Charlie. The Swiss Army Camper is hard to beet.
I try not to let my mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.

To me its Leatherman Wave too - but I have it on all the time, so its on in work, fishing, hunting, stumping - you name it...somehow I end up using those pliers to remove arrows from various wooden objects...but if I know there is lots of carving, then Fällkniven WM 1 or their Kolt. That GFA knife sure looks nice, though !

I like a lock blade if I'm gonna carry a folder. Lots of great knives out there. For the last three years I have been carrying a ZT with an ELMAX blade. It's a great knife. I just won't carry a folder that doesn't lock.

I carry a leather man on my belt and a Kershaw that clips inside my front pocket. It's an open assist knife and a little flip of the finger and the blade flies open and locks.

Benchmade Griptilian is my vote. Had mine for 13 years and 4 deployments. I have nearly done everything with that knife. Durable, holds a good edge, and you can easily open it AND close it with one hand.

The Leatherman gets my vote also.  I liked the way the Leatherman multitool blade cut so well, I ordered the Leatherman knife that supposedly had the same steel but I guess it was heat treated differently.  I didn't care for it at all.

For EDC I always have either my medium Case Stockman or my Great Eastern Cutlery Western Trapper, great for alot of different uses in the field

I always have a multi-tool (Leatherman my son bought me years ago) in the glove box or when hunting in my pack.

I seldom use it. It's invaluable when I need it, but that isn't often. A knife I use to cut and I cut things every day, sometimes many times in a day. I generally have a Kershaw assisted opener in my pants pocket and if hunting or woods wandering, a small utility sheath knife on my belt.

Leatherman Wave on my belt with a Buck model 112. I've field dressed most of my deer with my Model 112. For everyday carry its hard to beat the Swiss Army Camper. I have to agree with Charlie Lamb above, the little saw on the Swiss Army knife is the real deal.    :campfire:

toddster

It is a tough call for me, I love my Esee Izulla II and Candiru, but the outdoor edge knife has a great dressing blade, that literally "zips" deer open.

Blessed One

I cleaned 6 deer with one of these and just resharpened the same blade I was impressed. This is the best knife for cleaning animals I have ever owned and fits on your side nicely. They are now making a thin version to carry as a pocket knife.
