Lady Frost, where did your arrow break? Just behind the point or 2-3" up from there?

Cedar, cut to as close to my DL as possible, painted full length.

Easy and classic.

Looking at photos like these is one of the reasons that I have entered the world of building my own arrows.  I just don't know if I could shoot 'art' into a hay bale, especially with my abilities - but I don't think that will be my particular problem for a while!  My wife now cringes when I log on - more ideas to spend the greenbacks on!

I love , absolutely LOVE, working with wood arrows . But the cost and supply for them is getting very frustrating .

Gorgeous.

Im so impressed with all the arrow artists who exist on this site. Thanks for sharing!

I don't know how to download photos to this site from a home computer but my favorite woodies have simple cresting and are of a single bright cap and fletch color that catches the eye (white, yellow, pink, orange, etc.).  I like to be able to see them fly.

Alas my curse of the 31" draw makes it next to impossible to get shafts.

Okay.  My arrows suck!  I guess I build knowing they will be lost or broken.  Hurts less when their plane jane.

I had a guy make me a half-dozen custom Port Orford Cedar arrows. He did such a gorgeous job (if you like purple....obviously, I do!) that I had him do another full dozen of the same scheme. They have held up quite well, and have managed to stay straight.

Professional cresting, no shortcuts and very reasonably priced for woodies! In fact, it cost less to have these made than the basic materials for a dozen from 3Rivers.

Pine

This is my stumpin' buddy and a couple of my Doug Fur arrows .
They are stained with cherry blossom and blotches of mahogany with wipe on poly .
With the pink fletching , they are very easy to find if I practice shooting a warning shot .

Looks like you plumb missed the dog, Graps.
Would be sort of hard to miss that arrow in a bunch of green now that you mention it.

You guys are killing me - I feel almost ashamed for going out with my three yellow feathers slapped on a woodgrain GT.......  Man I wish I could shoot wood arrows well and had the time to put together these kind of "works of art"  Outstanding.

Maybe I need to contact one of our arrow smiths to work me up some doug fir with orange - I really like orange - any pics?
Everything has a price - the more we accept, the more the cost
