Chuck and Tony those are some of the best looking bows I have ever seen. What are the limb profiles? I hope Steve will make me one come October. My current Classic is supposed to be a straight profile but it has just a touch of string follow, maybe 3/4" and it is a very sweet shooter. The handle is a little to small for me so I think I'm regretably going to sell it. I have big hands.

David,
That's Chuck's baby and I agree with you...she is pretty.

I had a NM Whisper a few months back but, like you, I bought it used and found the handle was too small for my big paw.

Best get on Steve's list and have him make one just for you.  He has a great following here for sure.

Hawken1911

I had just started talking to Steve about having him make me a custom NM Shelton when I got a good deal on a HH 'Robin Hood'.  I love my HH bow, but that green glass sure is pretty, which is probably what I would have went with had I ordered one.

Hey Dave, here's the Turay's Swinehart grip with clear glass. Actually, it's the same shape, but doesn't have the glass up the whole belly. I just wanted the shape.  It's 2" deep with leather and 1 1/5" wide.

Overspined

The way the grips are shaped with the wedge, I haven't found the grip size to make much difference as long as it's not way too big or way too small. I have a T/D bow that kept shooting right on me and I found that the loose grip like LaClaire describes helped remove the torque from the sleeve grip

Are you bringing that one to the GLLI Chuck? I'd sure love to see that one in person! Also hope to see another bow in your booth that I haven't seen since Comptons...

I really had a good time last weekend looking at a David Miller and a Shrew Hill. Maybe someday I'll see that Blue Duck inspired bow too!

Chuck,

Your Swinehart is one cool looking Hill Style!!!
Have a nice day!

I Thank you all for the nice comments on my bow, I will pass them on to Steve as he is the craftsmen for this one.

Tony, That is the New NM green,I posted pics of another Swinehart inspired bow with the Dark green glass a few pages back. I will try to get you the page number. It is also on the Swinehart Thread. Try page 677 Tony

Sant-RavenHill Yes it is one piece of glass that runs over the entire belly side of the grip.

My Classic has about 3/4" of back-set.
Yes I will bring it to GLLI,
Thanks Guys,

Beautiful bow Matt. The riser and lam combo is awesome. Steve makes a very comfortable grip. I need a 4 1/2" long and 2 3/8" deep grip. Anything under 4 1/2" and my hand hangs off at the bootom. Are you going to make it to the Hill Hog Hunt?

Tony I am on his list. I am selling my Classic that I have now due to the grip being to small for my Sasquach size hands. I had a senior moment on the bow mix up. HaHa ...sorry  :)

Aug 15? Wow, and I though our season started early this year. I think here in Ark it opens Sept 15 and it's gonna be hot.

Prairie goats start Aug 15 around here. I bought a tag this year, but I don't think my Wesley special will be here in time for opening morning. Maybe it will be here by elk season, though.

I find I am re-reading "Sagittarius", all of sudden. I think those beautiful green and white-glassed longbows are getting me worked-up, or something....

How could A&H patent this idea when it was already patented by Hill?

All A&H "patented" was the "process" that makes their limb shape.

swampthing

The acs limb is reverse of what Howard used, as the con"cave" is on the back of their bows. Howard's bow had a convex back. Both excellent ideas that increase stiffness to mass.
Trees are the same way, they have growth rings. When you cut out a bow stave from a tree you have a concave/convex core. Just look at the growth rings!
