Quotethat there is talk of other hill-style bows is ancillary, but apropos, and makes the thread that much richer.

Steve/NM sponsors many appropriate trad and LB orgs. You can't advertise or sponsor everything.  He steps up to the plate on many levels, especially locally in MI.  He's a one man show business who happens to make a great hill style fleet of LB's.

Chuck,  I'm confused a little as well.  maybe Rob D. can elaborate.  I had the impression that this thread concerned Howard Hill bows, generally meaning straight-limb style bows....of which there are many makers, and the interest caused HH Archery to become a sponser. (this thread influenced HH Archery to join TG where the past years of Hill talk on TG could not.) However, there has been much talk concerning all things pertaining to Hill style bows, including bows from many bowyers who make a straight limb Hill style bow....  I didn't understand that this thread was exclusive to HH Archery Longbows only.....if that is the case, then my bad,   :(
Please accept my apologies for my ignorance...  :(

Mudd

I thought it was Hill and Hill style bows.

I really hope we don't limit this thread to just bows made by the Howard Hill Archery company.  There is so much information on this thread about straight limb longbows, shooting "Hill" form, History of the longbows, people involved with making straight limb longbows, etc.  All things "Hill" and Hill style bows is this thread up to this point.  This thread has an influence in a good way for many of its participants.  I am enjoying it and the education and relearning!  Lets keep it going.  If it is not broke, why fix it?

Chuck,  you have a keeper!  I've got to meet Tim, and had one of his longbows.  He built great bows for Ted Ekin before Craig started building....  it's quite amazing that a bow with that amount of backset can shoot smoothly without alot of handshock if they're handled correctly... :)

Thanks Jeff and Nate, It is nice and smooth for a 61# bow, I don't know what it is at my 30" but feels Good. I need me some woodies tho. Carbons just do feel right with that bow..OH! how bout my micro flights? #11 should do eh?

The #11 should work,  I liked #9's out of my bows, but I didn't do heavy point weights

Speaking of arrows, Paul Jalon of Elite Arrows who makes my Cedar arrows was over yesterday. I had told him that I was cleaning out the back room of my shop and if he wanted some good cedar shafting to come on over. When he left the back of his Jeep Liberty was loaded with a couple thousand shafts. Now these weren't JUST your regular run of the mill cedars. I had a lot of old Acme Premium shafting many of them marked over 100# spine. I also had a lot of old tapered cedars tapered from 11/32 to 5/16. Paul is going to go through all of them,..spine and weight..

The old shop has been closed for a number of years and I've been just doing mail order off my website, but it's going to be opening up again on a limited basis...more on that later. Some of you may remember the shop in it's hay-day...I spent many happy hours there starting in 1986 until around 1999.

Oh I do remember Ron, I loved to just "look in the corners" and see what I could find. You have some cool stuff in there that is for sure. I will be sure to stop out when you are back open.

Ron, I can't remember if I was ever in your shop, but will definitely swing by if u reopen!

Gregg stopped by the shop this afternoon to show me the #1 ShrewHill. It's still in the rough and needs to have a lot of "meat" off yet but it's looking good. We're thinking it may finish out at around 50# 68", babinga riser, bamboo and yew core with clear glass.
