HillGang-

When I came home from work tonight, I found my Howard Hill Collectiable book was in the mail. I could not put it down, I read everything. Every page of the book is a color picture of a Hill item with a description, and the maker. Bob Burton did a fantastic job with this book. It is very interesting to see all the different Hill bows from different times, and who was the bowyer that built them. One of my favorites is a bow called "Old Tough Dog" that was built for Skeet Moore.

You have a great collection started. I'm very interested in seeing your cc/cv Miller bow, and how it performs.

Congrats on the hunts Rik and Okie Man.

Some nice bows there Ron!!!

Darren, I would have liked more detailed information about the bows in the Howard Hill Collectiable book and some full length photos and also strung photos of any of the bows that could be strung. It's a great book but could have had a lot more info IMO.

Jeff-

I agree with you, but from talking to Bob it was very hard getting the detailed information because so many of the guys have passed away from that era. Bob told me that Hugh Rich was working on the same type of project documenting Howards bows and arrows, but he never completed it. The book itself Bob explained was very expensive because of all the color photos. I would suggest that if anyone has any recommendations let Bob know because he will be traveling the country looking for Hill stuff to put in his next book.

I'm anxiously awaiting my copy of Bob's book.  Couple of weeks I think.

What's the webpage for Sunset Hill Longbows guys?

None for the Sunset Hill, Rosso.

Mates-------Nate's Old School.

No web site.

No fancy hunting dogs (he prefers Mountain Curs)

Simple, killer bows; leather back quivers; plenty of plaid and wool; and no web site.

Sounds about right.

Mudd

Okie man I am waiting to see the pictures of your new Sunset Hill.

Mine will be awesome as well of that I am sure.

I am so looking forward to my Sunset Hill bow!

God bless,Mudd

I got my Howard Hill collectible book also, man it sure is awesome pics, read it from cover to cover too, Great job Bob.  As far as Nate Steen, he is a bad man, got the bow he made me and now, I am going to have to call him to take more of my money.  I will say, I haven't shot a Miller, but Nate is the best longbow I have ever shot and custom, Craigs is second.

toddster

I say we all met at Nate's in the sprind and have a "Last Wilderness" shoot (Howard HIll, west coast).

I go away for a few days and everyone's posting pics of new great bows , fantastic old ones [ love the Pete George ] and Rik decides to dispel the game farm myth with some darn fine hunting pics [ well done mate !!!] \\

And no quiver on the bow Rik ? Nicely done brother ... how good are those Arrowmasters eh ?

Ben,

They're good. Well, maybe better than good. It's how well a guy can shoot with or without a bow quiver that counts.

Me? I still need practice without a quiver. ROCK SOLID bow arm and drawing arm------that's the secret. Training and training and training------that's the solution.

Since this is a two-blade hunt, I will be testing out the Duiker tonight. Keeping the wet snow off the fletch? Nothing much short of genius.

The Idaho late season opens in four days. I packed my camp in today. It's snowing heavy up there. Dang fingers about froze setting up the tent. What is it about us longbow guys that make us do it the hard way?
