Red Tailed Hawk

Thanks for the kind words guy's.

This is my first hill bow, I am really impressed with how forgiving this bow shoots.

I took it on the evening hunt tonight, something about being out there with a hill bow that just felt real good.

I think my other bows are going to start getting jealous.

Be careful Red Tailed Hawk my other bows got jealous then they started treating me bad and spraying my arrows all over the target. It got so bad they had to find someplace else to live. Nice bow and great shooting!

Rob, When you call your order in tomorrow, don't keep Craig on the phone too long. After all, he's kinda busy working on MY new Tembo!  :goldtooth:    :jumper:

Rob, you need a day to start picking out woods combo's, draw weight, bow length, tip overlays, string follow or not, grip type, grip leather color.
Oh my god you got a busy day ahead of you!!!

And then you can second guess yourself for the rest of the day!!   :)

been figured out and done long ago:

70", coco riser and overlays, caramelized boo limbs, locator handle, black suede laced grip, 47@29 (which should give me 52@29  :)  )

Can you get the same grip with the take down sleeve that you can get on the one piece?

i asked that of craig earlier this year.  there are two sleeve diameters to choose and they're essentially ovoid in cross section.

if you want a different handle shape, or even the "standard" hill grip shape, you'd need to look into a connexion hinge or bow bolt or perhaps the latch system.

For you do-it-yourself types. Have you noticed how the clear glass is softer and sands faster than the dark colored glass?

Benny Nganabbarru

Good on you, Rob! But like others have said, don't hold him up too long on the phone... He's working on my Wapiti!

Well I've had "The Yellowstone" for the weekend and it will not be going anywhere.  That is just too fine a bow to part with.  It seems to have stretched the tendons out and is just beastly fun to shoot.  Definitely at about the limit of draw weight so I'm going to need to be ordering a little something more of an all-arounder...

I'm thinking a 67" Big Five string follow with brown glass back, a rust wrapped dished grip, carmelized boo, and a clear belly in the 54-60@26 range should make a fine four season hunter.

I sure wish the take down came with the same grip...  :(

Molson that big 5 your thinking of sounds sweet.

   Thumbs up on the dished grip, fits my hand like a glove.

I hope I can get my Big Five into it's "natural environment" soon!!! Two weekends down and no good shooting opportunities yet, hopefully next weekend!

Do most of you guys leave your hill bows strung or do you unstring after shooting?

Paper work that came with bow recommends not leaving bow strung for long periods.
