Blue jeans , no silencers and dang fine hat ...

I', pretty sure a mate of mine just had himself a bow built for him by Floyd ... Boy  does  Floyd make a great bow ...

i spoke with Bobby some years ago about bows and hunting  ... it was an expensive phone call !!! A very nice fella who shared a lot of information with a young kid from Australia .

Yeah Nate, I remember Floyd Oakes. Enjoyed his stories in the Traditonal Archery Digest!

Bobby use to come to Cloverdale and the GLLI in the early days of those shoots, too.

I bought a piece of bamboo from Bobby, and still have it, over 20 years now! Really want to put something together with it!

Bobby was a big man, more ways than one!

Now that's a cool photo-----real bowhunters with real huntin' hats. Love it!

arrow flynn

my beef w hill bows is the handle its like a 2x4 not good for for being accurate i like a wedge grip where my thumb laps over my index 1/ 4 to 1/2 inch of course this is the way i like it someone with a 2X4 FOR A HANDLE could like it and shoot no other way ive seen it

Arrow Flynn,

I too am not a fan of the big handles, so I had all mine made nice and perfect and about as far from a 2X4 as possible.

The Hill bows with 2x4 handles are for the guys who like 2x4 handles.

The Hill bows with Super-Comfortable and accurate handles are for us, shall we say, more discerning and handsome gentlemen.

Oh my! This has been like reading a good book. And took me about as long to get through it.  :)

Good to see folks discovering (re-discovering) the Hills. Great bows, great company. I've been using them since '72 and what Craig is putting out these days is the best the company has ever made.

What do you mean with "2x4" handles?
German by birth, Bavarian by the grace of god

I had the pleasure of hunting with Floyd earlier in the year and he was kind enough to make me a bow, he is a great shot with his bow hit a 3D boar target at 68 yards first shot! I enjoyed hearing all the bow hunting stories from when he was younger and look forward to hunting again next year.

Sweet bow Piggy ... in real life , up close it is about as nice a straight Hill style stick as you will find .

I'm a fan of the straight Hill handle, but if you have small hands or something, Craig offers other handle styles.  2x4 forsooth.

Good to see you posting Tom....Look what I found....

Had planned to take it out for a spin Friday but at 9 AM a tornado hit Staunton 6 miles up the road and I spent Friday and Saturday doing video for insurance claims. My son lives in Staunton and got hit pretty hard also.

This morning was the day. Hill bows are made to hunt and rove with (translation: I can't shoot groups on a target face) so we took a wander in the back forty. Yeah, I think I'll keep this one around. Thanks Terry, and to whoever else was involved in this unexpected but much appreciated surprise.

Terry I assume the problem is on my end but that doesn't make it any less frustrating...lol

I clicked on (TradGang Bow Clip) at the bottom of your post and it opened in a new tab but the page never showed up.

Any help from anyone would be appreciated!

God bless,Mudd

wmv files play just fine through firefox.  heck, i'm not even running a microsoft os, i'm on linux!  yea!!

not sure why some of you folks can't get it to work.  you can right click and save the entire video to your pc (it's about 8megs) then it WILL open with any windows media player.

Yeah Terry, I've been meeting myself coming and going past couple years and haven't logged on much lately. Beginning to see light at end of tunnel.

Been doing some hunting with this bow but sceered to post videos as I fear you'll realize you made an oops and want this gem back.  :)  Couple pics for Rob's collection.

Thanks again. I've got racks full of Hills but this one is special...for a lot of reasons.
