Hi guys,I encountered a problem that puzzled me.
I have the bow in the spring of 2014,unfortunately after few months I got a dry-firing because of nock cracked. After that I shot it very well till last december,it cracked without any omen.
But I found a unidentified thing just like a film inside the rift.Look at the photos please,it's clear, soft and easy to separate by needle without any adhesion. It can be stretched and burnt.
I think that's a abnormal substance in the bow,it doesn't look like any dried epoxy.Although somebody told me that's a kind of glue but I can't imagine such a glue without any adhesion inside every bows. So I think it's the main reason led to crack, the dry-firing just intensified it.

What do you think about it? Is it normal?

And the course of getting it out

It could be a piece of plastic Saran Wrap. Most bowyers will wrap saran wrap around the bow to keep epoxy from squeezing out and getting on their form. The Saran could have gotten between the laminations when the bowyer was adjusting the bow before he clamped the form down.

After viewing the clip, it is definitely plastic Saran Wrap. I would contact the bowyer or manufacturer and see if they will make it right!

Thank you Pheonixarcher, does it happen frequently? And would it be bad to the bow?

Pheonixarcher

This is the first case I have ever personally seen, but I'm sure it has happened before.

While a broken nock was the event that initiated the failure, that Saran Wrap was the cause of the failure.

I see it has a wrapped thread repair.  Is that from the nock failure in 2014?

No, the thread had been wrapped around before we pried the rift up to avoid the laminations cracking.
