I have a Bohning jig but I feel the the clamp could be better. Would a Bitz clamp work? Anybody ever try?

I don't have a Bohning jig, but I looked at the picture, and it looks like it MIGHT work with a Bitz clamp.  The Bitz clamp has a metal plate which is 2 1/2 X 3/4" to attach to the magnets on the Bitz base.  The magnets on the base are 2" apart from outside edge to outside edge.

I also have a Martin jig, which is advertised as being compatible with the Bitz clamp.  The Bitz clamp would work on the Martin base, but not as well as it does on the Bitz base.  The Btiz base has two very strong magnets which hold the Bitz clamp very solidly.  The magnets on the Martin base are much weaker.  You get what you pay for, I guess.

I use a Bohning clamp on my Bitz. No problem
