This is the side plate of my Toelke Whip.  Does this look like normal arrow wear, or is it indicative of something else going on?  Too stiff - too weak...etc?

I just went and looked at mine, and the wear is identical. My set up for my Whip flies really well.

If they didn't wear out normally no one would sell replacement parts. You'll wear them out with the draw and then a bit on the release.

Thanks guys, I have good arrow flight, but with fully fletched AD Traditionals - have never run them through a thorough bare shafting, so didn't know if the wear was showing something the fletching was hiding.

Normal wear usually due to the fact we roll the string when gripping it. Nocks are just tite enough to cause arrow shaft to be up against plate. I have a slight deep hook and my rest looks like yours

Forgot to mention, there are experts that can tell you by the wear pattern your shooting technique. Weather your arrows are stiff or weak, your brace height to high or low. Can be good info if your not getting good arrow flight.

Like M60 says, I also look at lots of wear in a particular place as tuning feedback.

If my arrows are stiff, I'll see definite, quick wear on my side plate.
I'm sure here are variables with that, though.

It is truly amazing how much everything moves that we cannot see any of with the naked eye!!!

Thanks Guys,
I'm guessing this is pretty normal wear, I have good arrow flight, and based on the slow mo it looks like that's about where it would rub.
No shirt and tats were crucial for getting the full effect of the slow mo archers paradox.

if the arrow flight is good ignore all that and don't change anything,,,,,,its normal wear and tear like tires on the truck

I would imagine that the quantity of arrows you've put through that bow would have a tremendous effect on the side plate. Like Tajue said, things wear just like tires depending on the usage. If I were getting good arrow flight, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the headsup on that video Bisch. It was mesmerizing. I know arrows flex as they leave the bow but never realized they did so for so long.
