I am looking to buy a good quality monocular for bow hunting. I have a set of binocs but since I have almost no vision in my one eye, I figured a monocular may be a better fit. Just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with different brands or styles. Thanks Steve

I have a Busshnell monocular.  I found it too hard to steady out.  JMO, but the very small size makes it hard to hold steady.

I tried one and found that they are good at viewing things close by.  No substitute for binoculars for glassing fields but good for in close work.

I used a Bushnell 10X when I read meters a few years ago.  I really liked using it over binoculars.  Just wish I could have kept it.

Zeiss makes a really nice one for about $120.

Someone on this site bought a Zeiss monocular here(TradGang) a couple of years ago. Always wished I had bought it, just to give it a try. Don't think you could go wrong buying the Zeiss if money is not an issue.

I am blind in my left eye, so I thought a monocular would be great, like others here I have found it too hard to hold steady. So i just kept using the binoculars. try before you buy if at all possible.

The Bruntons are cheap and have good light gathering but I dont know if they would be powerful enough for what you need. I use mine for 3D.  Its 7x18 and they only cost about $25.

I've found that my 6 power single lens range finder works better than a monocular that I have.
