I use an apple in my shop.  I like the fact that it has a place to attach a shop vac to get the dust when in use.

I bought the little arrow saw from Big Jim at Denton Hill and it works great.  The compact size and the price was right for me because I will only use it a couple dozen times a year.  I can't speak of its longevity though.

Went down the DYI road. Then bought one from F/S Discount Arrows. It finally died. Finally bought an Apple about 8 years ago. Wish I had done that to start with.

I have a Weston 5000.,have had it for probably 5 years. Never had a problem, except for having to order new blades. Has anyone evertried a blade other than what is marketed for apple/Weston? I saw some 3" cut off saw blades the other day at the store, but they looked a little thick. I would order one. But be time shipped and all would be over 20$. Wondering if the 6$ jobers down the road would work as long as the have the same hole size?

I have used an Apple saw that I bought from Cabelas back in the 80s. Still use it but be  safe and wear safety glasses since the saw can end up shooting broken blades across my basement.
