To me half the fun of new ground is figuring the deer out. Study the terrain (google earth) and play the wind. Don't over think it just go have some fun.

Also this early in the season...just go scout.  Well it is true that too much scouting isn't good...we also sometimes forget ( or choose to believe ) that we are not the only humans in the woods.    Squirrel hunters, hikers, landowners often stroll through the woods during the season with absolutely no respect - leaving all sorts of scent...I know there is something wrong with them, but what is a bowhunter to do :-)

Put the wind in your face and walk toward the thickest part of the lease.  Once you pass a bunch of White Oaks and find yourself between the acorns and the thick stuff (beds ?)set up and listen to the acorns drop.
