How do you guys remove sticky residue from your limbs or riser - like after tape or something has been peeled off?  I didn't want to experiment with rubbing alcohol as I didn't want to mess with the finish without asking first.

Goo gone.  It's citrus based and you can get it at Home Depot or Lowes.  Just squirt it on an old t-shirt or other clean cotton cloth and wipe off the sticky residue with it.  Then rinse with soap and water.

I use denatured alcohol.  Not the same as rubbing alcohol.  Regardless, a little on a cloth and rub the residue off.  Continuous, repeated rubbing might soften the finish a bit, but the gunk is usually long gone before you reach that stage.

Goo Gone, or Goof Off. But, WD40 will probably work just as good.

I use the Goo Gone. Works great for getting old, dried scotch tape off refrigerator doors and tape residue from bows. Like meatCKR, I follow with soap and water just to make sure I don't leave any on the bow. Probably wouldn't hurt, but then......

I also use a pad and cup bow stringer on my recurves and don't like the idea of leaving anything on the limbs that might be slippery.

Ronson lighter fluid will work also ....... but check an inconspicuous spot first. I've used it before without problems.
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm
not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

GooGone or other citrus based products like it.
