I am looking at ordering a new longbow. I am just not sure which to order first. I plan to have at least one of each of these at some point, but what to order first.??
I have narrowed the field down to these 3. A shrew, A Blackwidow, & a ancient spirits . I have tried All of them & They all are outstanding bows! Just not sure what to get first. The Shrew takes a year to get. I can have a Widow or ancient spirits in about 3 months. maybe order the shrew & while I wait get one of the other 2.?
What do you folks Think?  :banghead:

Unless you're the lead dog, the scenery never changes....

That sounds good to me. Have fun deciding.

For me it's more like 'so many bows, so little money'  :D

Target Panic

Black Widow exotic.
However there are two more bows I would throw into your pot. Acacian Wood's Tree Stick and Roy Hall's Apache ( Navajo Bows)

Jeff,
"I plan to have at least one of each of these at some point, but what to order first.??"

"order the shrew & while I wait get one of the other 2."

Seems to me you may be headed down the same dark road as the Rowan Brothers, Danny and Donald.

Order the Shrew then buy the Widow and get the Anchient Spirit a little later then when the Shrew gets there you will have all three and if as addicted as me maybe a couple more.            :goldtooth:    :biglaugh:

I've shot them all and like them all.  That said, I have two Ancient Spirits Sequoias and they are simply awesome performers.  The grip is comfortable, the bow shoots a fast arrow, and I have found my 64" models to be very forgiving and quiet.  Order the bow you want (they are all great), but you can't go wrong with the AS.

One note on the Ancient Spirits lead time.  I ordered a bow from JD in March and still haven't seen it.  I was told back in late May it would be ready shortly, so sent the balance of the payment.  Despite many promises I've yet to see a bow at my door.  Not really sure what their lead time is, but it's definately not 3 months in my experience.  Do a search here and you'll see similar stories.

Pinecone's right on their performance however; I have three other AS and they are awesome shooters.  To make you even more confused, the RER (River's Edge) bows are right there with the AS.

Im sure this will not help you make your decision, but you got to try a Schaffer SilverTip, then im sure you will be deciding between 4 bows, lol  :)

Good Luck,
( your not the only one with a bow buying disorder, i have one to, ),  :)

i can think or worse things to be addicted to

Instead of waiting for the Shrew why not get a Griffen, or Tsunami.
