My favorite bow delaminated. Can it be repaired? Is it soething I could reglue myself? How do i go about fixing or getting it fixed?

DanBear

I'm not sure who made the bow.

Danny Rowan

Sorry for you loss, that bow appears to be toast. Even if you reglue I think you are asking for trouble, get a new bow.

It's possible it could be put back together with the right epoxy..... but no guarantee its going to hold..... The tricky part is getting the epoxy thin enough to get it completely into the part where it's still attached without leaving a void. You would be best using Smooth on epoxy & heating the stuff just enough to thin it out during application...... Super glue isn't going to work.

That sucks ! I have a longbow that looks like that .    :(

I have repaired dozens of bows that delaminated. Each one is different and only about 50% hold up. Usually the rest of the bow is ready to let loose. The right way to fix the bow would to strip the riser and rebuild the bow with new limbs.

I've been thinking about making myself a bow for a while. Might be a good time to make a form and attempt to put some new limbs on the riser.

What you can do is pull that glass all the way off sand both sides and put it back on.... but the odds are you are going to need to readjust the tiller...... The build a new bow option might be more fun though...
