I ended up mailing a check. PP wanted almost $16 of charge, even with the friends and family option.

I just put GIFT in Remarks/comments box, along with all the auction info asked for here, and got no charge added - just saying ...... LOL

I was using a debit card not connected to PayPal, Bernie. They'll sneak it in if you're not careful. I was about to hit the "send" button until I saw that little box in the upper right corner about the fee charge. I was sending as a gift to friends and family. You gotta watch them.
