What method do you use? Have you switched? what benefits have you seenif you did make a change? Any difference in accuracy, consistency or draw length if you made a change?

I'm a split finger shooter but may be changing. I was just messing around in the back yard today and tried the three under method. I was very consistent right out of the gate. Surprised be to be honest. Arrow was flying true and hitting very close to where I was looking.

Considering how long I have shot spit finger, the accuracy I acheived three under was surprising. I did find the bow ever so slightly louder maybe it was just my perception. I also believe I was ever so slightly shorter on my draw, but had nobody to observe my draw at the time. Just interested in what you have observed if you have tried both or switched.   :campfire:

I shoot split finger and tried three under.  I am more accurate with the three under, at least at close distances.  Split finger works better for me though because I do a lot of small game hunting where I need to make a quick shot.

Three under is taught a lot to new archers. It gets them into the 10 ring real quick like you discovered. To about 20 yards all should be great all the time. If that is going to be your max range forever you are in. After 20 yards you will need some type of gap system based on your point on with your bow. I suggest you find the YouTube flick by Jimmy Blackmon. I also saw it explained by Rod Jenkins in the trad quest vidoes.

I play around with both methods, and I also find 3 under to be more accurate inside 20 yards. Past 20 I start having to hold over my target. I am shooting full length shafts right now, so if I trimmed them down and re tuned I could probably extend my point of aim.  I do find my bow to be more quiet shooting split fingers, and I do feel my draw is a bit longer shooting split because three under i anchor when the fletch hits my nose, split the fletch clears my nose and i draw about an inch further.

split since day one,, I actually feel the difference in my bows when I tried 3 under but maybe its the feel on the pinky finger too I remember a pinch thing going on at my pinky when I tried 3under at full draw.

also, a couple people I shoot with who shoot 3 under usually fall apart on a coon course (shooting in the dark) or shooting in different postions and it leads me to believe either conciously or subconciously they are gunbarreling or gap shooting and cannot see the arrow or their form is different,,, good thing or bad thing i'm not sure but split for me eliminates all that extra mind warp stuff so even in the pitch dark, or if the bow is canted in any position OR I can be Kneeling down with my bow verticle to the ground or back the other way kneeling down and leaning back with my bow hugging my chest to shoot around a tree my target picture and accuracy is pretty much always the same.

thats just me though because I have been destroyed on the 3d course by a 3 under friend, I think he shot a 296 that day and we shot from the compound bowhunter stake with a max distance of 30yds so it can be very deadly for some people,,,,,, he hunts from a tree stand so no shooting in the dark and pretty much all his deer are clean kills out to 30-35yds I'm pretty sure his max is with a 50# bow.

3 under for me shot split for years i'm a look and hit shooter I shoot fast and don't look at the arrow tip to aim with after awhile your brain adjusts to distance at the distance I shoot at game here in the south 3 under is fine my two bow kills last year 10 and 25 yds hope all is well Kerry

I shot split forever.  I fooled around with 3 under but never really committed to it until after taking Rod Jenkins course.  That's the way I am shooting now and for my hunting situations and distances it works great.  I am more accurate with 3 under at 25 yards and under.  I struggle a little past the 25 yard mark but to be honest I'm not shooting any deer farther anyway so I am not really concerned.  I am working on my distant shooting now getting ready for 3D.

split for 25yrs. then 3 under the last few yrs. when i go back and try split it feels way too foreign.

I don't think one method is inherently "better" than the other. You can shoot true instinctive either way and you can gap either way, shoot fast or slow either way, you can shoot well either way or you can shoot crappy either way.

I shot split from the 1960's until 1996 (various types of bows). I switched to 3 under in 2010 as I returned to recurves.

I think the 3 under anchor is much more comfortable; I get no callouses on my fingers and my hand doesn't feel "crowded" on my face (I anchor with index tip at corner of mouth).

Oddly enough I use a split finger tab (Cavalier Elite) without the finger separator or jaw platform.

I believe I'm also more accurate.

split, been that way since the wheelies days as I didn't use a release. Just cant get a good feel with three under?

I shoot split always have 30+ years lotta folks shoot well three under. I prefer the control of having the nock between fingers. It's a personal choice one ain't better just different.

I'm shooting split now. I shot 3 under for my first 5 years shooting a trad bow. Nothing wrong with it, killed some great animals using 3 under. This last fall I dropped limb weight and thought I would try split again. The bow was so much quieter and my point on was further out I decided to stick with split. When I first started I think 3 under really helped get that arrow close to my eye and keep that arrow on target. Now that my form is better and more consistent I can shoot split again. I don't need that arrow so close toy eye anymore. Again, nothing wrong with either, no one way is better than the other IMO

Haven't been in trad archery that long. Started split but have recently switched to 3 under with a slight cant. Better sight picture for me and my accuracy, when I concentrate, is much better. Not worried about longer distances and using gap as I'm not shooting at any animal over 25 yds.
