Recently I read an article on using shrink tubing in one of the Traditional Archery magazines.  I'd like to give this a try but cannot locate the article.  Does anyone know what issue and what magazine that was in?  thanks,  Chad

I believe primitive archer had one at one time
Basically find tubing that is slightly larger than the shaft and then shrink its
Then fletch.
If you have to refletch its as easy as slicing the tubing and peeling off.

Its not hard just take an arrow shaft to an auto parts store and get some shrink tubing and slip over shaft and heat it with a heat gun.Comes in different sizes, just get one that is close to the shafts diameter.Easton is using shrink wrap on a lot of their new carbon arrows.Whether you get shafts or made up arrows.I have and used some of Easton's arrow shrink wrap on some arrows, nicer pattern then a plain color.

I thought there was some specifics as far as type/composition of the tubing as well as a source to buy it in bulk.

Chad, it could add some weight and stiffen up the dynamic spine quite a bit.

I was just re-adjusting some of my arrow spine worksheets on Stu's computer and in the past just entered 5" 3-fletch. This time I weighed a bare shaft on my reloading scale. Then I added a One-stringer 9" wrap. Finally, I fletched it up and re-weighed. Came to a total of 30gr increase, so I entered "other" in the fletching block and 30gr for actual weight. The dynamic spine showed an increase.

All of the electrical heat shrink tubing I've used in electronics work has been pretty substantial compared to the thin film One-Stringer wrap, so I would expect an even greater increase in dynamic spine.

It will be interesting to see what you come up with.
