Big NERF kickball wrapped in duct tape (so it stays together) I have had the same one for years and is great to kick and shoot the running rabbit shots.

Thanks for the ideas everyone! Ive been tinkering with target ideas and haven't made one of these small ones until last night

I thought it would be a great idea to shoot an inflated basketball with a rubber blunt.

When the arrow zipped back past my head I decided it wasn't such a great idea afterall.

Nerf footballs are good toss and shoot targets.

With the foam in a can.
Squirt some in, not much, wait a day or so. Squirt more on top, wait a day or so.
Continue this process. You need the container to be at room temperature.  It HAS to have air to set up.  If you squirt it all in at once you will have a mess that will never get hard.

Well as luck would have it I do have an old rubber basketball... I picked up a can of spray foam tonight at the hardware store. I plan to fill it here and there over the next couple of days. I'll then figure out how to attach a rope for easy carry and paint on aiming points. FYI I'll shoot field points at a target like this

Started the basketball spray foam target project. As luck would have it in had a rubber basketball that my police k9 partner grabbed awhile back and instantly popped! Gotta love Belgian malinois! So I cut a hole in it, tied knots in small rope, and put it in. Then filled the ball about a third so the foam would take around the rope. I will finish filling once the first section sets.if it works the foam should set around the rope so I will have a handy tote rope!

Empty milk jugs will sometimes jump and roll around when you shoot at them with a rubber blunt.

Next shot could be a few yards further than the first, so just stand in one spot and get a few varying distance shots.

Target doesn't last long, but collect and recycle when dented up and full of holes.

If the target gets moving and is filled with foam it could break arrows.  I like the deflated ball idea

I use a liquid laundry detergent container (gallon size, I suppose), and jam it full of old Wal-mart grocery bags.  I shoot field points and blunts at it, but not Judos.
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

Well the basketball project didn't fair well! I should a have just crammed it with Walmart bags.spray foam last night set up. Did a bit more today and as of now its just soupy and not setting up....the cat litter jug works great tho. Stuffed as many bags and old t-shirts as I could inside and my arrow won't even pass thru it. It does flip and flop on the ground which will eventually lead to bent aluminum shafts. Gonna keep eyes open for a 10x10 cardboard box that I can fill and wrap with tape.

Take a old soccer ball and drill a few holes in it, then use the spray in foam a little at a time. Don't try to fill it all at once or the foam will not be able to setup.  Kick and shoot. Fun to shoot it while rolling.

This is what I did with a basketball and it didn't work like I figured. I sprayed a little at a time and the center never set up and the spray foam I got when it did set up was very soft. I'll check the barn for another old ball and try stuffing with grocery bags next time

Darren,
Just go to your local club and retrieve a "shot out" kill zone from their trash.  Hook a rope onto it to help you throw it farther.  then just fling and shoot.  When it is actually, really shot out, go get another from the trash and do it again.  Another good thing to do with them, if you have the space, in paint them orange, spread them out a field or woods and have a "punkin" shoot.
