I'm interested in trying to make a leather back quiver for shoot 3D,stumps or whatever. I know some fellows posted a few ideas before and I seem to not be able to find them. Got a Tandy leather not far from me, so leather won't be a problem. Thanks for the help.

Go for it! I think you will enjoy working with leather and will wind up with something you did with your own hands.

I'd suggest you use Bud B's tutorial and then work with the quiver. See what might adapt it better to your needs and make a second one to try out your idea. You can always keep the better one and sell the other one for enough to more than cover the cost of the leather.

Great, soothing therapy   :)

Here are a few links that might be helpful. But Bud B's tutorial, that akbowbender linked, is probably the best help.

Tandy probably has a pattern, at least they used to.

Follow Bud B build along.   I love the one he made for me from the St. Jude Auction.

Thanks guys, can't wait to get started. I made a basket quiver a few years ago and the weaving was very interesting and was very relaxing. It's still in great shape and I'm still using it.

If you haven't used a back quiver before, I made a short how-to video. Might not apply to your your way of shooting, but then again.....

Tandy does have patterns for archery leather. The quiver pattern is not of the Hill style. It is more the 50's style with a nice large pocket.

post some pics Longbow, I've been yearning to build one myself.

Will do goobersan, Fortunately have a friend that has some leather working tools.

Why are you waiting?
It's surprisingly easy to do, and a lot of fun. I've considered making another one just for the fun of it, but haven't as mine is still new. If you'll read Bud B's how-to a couple of times, you should be able to turn one out in an afternoon. And that's if you're taking your time.

my current beer addiction has been taking up most of my time,
and all of my $    :scared:
I have a Tandy near work and a leather shop too. I've read Bud B's more than a couple times already. I made a quiver from birch bark. A little rough to say the least but it was good experience. Just procrastinating a little. When you see what I'm working on you'll understand

Yea guys looked at Bud B making his quiver and doesn't look bad at all. Going to get leather this weekend.
