Cost of Typical Canadian Black Bear Hunt??

I booked my first black bear hunt for this fall, by myself. Everyone sounded excited at first, then came the excuses. It's probably better that way. I'll be heading to Colorado though, rather than Canada.

I booked an Idaho spring bear hunt for my son, grandson, and brother and I yesterday.  The per person hunt prices:

- $1785 (15% discount for our party)
- $154 Hunting Lic.
- $41.75 NR Special Tag
- $160 (6% state and 3% Federal tax)

5 days of hunting

We might add 1-2 hunters in the next couple of weeks to fill up our camp.

I'm excited because this is a 3 generation party. My son is 35 and the grandson is 11. All will be bowhunting except the grandson. He shoots bows but I don't think he'll be at an ethical draw weight by June. I'll be the only recurve in camp.

The outfitter has  Fall camps in Maine and Spring/Fall in Idaho.

I went on a bargain basement hunt to New Brunswick last June - $1,300.  Four of us. Only one saw bears and no shots taken.

Can't beat the Bear Quest Hunt this spring. Good price, good food, good people and good hunting. Especially if it's a first hunt! Folks will treat you right and make sure you get taken care of! I'm sure there are a lot of hunt's that offer the same, I'm just a little prejudiced in my view!

I like the idea of these grad-only hunting camps but I'm the only person in my group that hunts with recurves.

Bear sign in Ontario $1250.00 . Hunting out of a drop site in the Canada wild ! I hunted there in 2006 and 2012 , took two bears in the 300lb range. You must bring your own tent and food / equipment . I camped out of my I closed trailer / atv .
Guide will take you in and will come in after dark if you want.

Cant remember the years for sure 03 -06 maybe.  Filled both years blonde first year and black second.  The jumbos avoided me but I wasn't being real selective.  Tom Nelson was there second year and shot a monster.  Cant believe its been that long ago but you know how it goes.
