I ment #4 nylon for my nocks    I'm using 62 braid for serving.

BowDiddle

RB showed me how to tie the whip tie (nail) knots last year at a 3D shoot.

He did not use a pencil when he showed me. Instead he just used a looped piece of serving to pull the tag end back through.

I asked him about the pencil thing, and he said he did it that way in the video so people could clearly see the structure of the knot.

I use dental floss and do it as Bob Swineheart describes in Sagittarius by wrapping over a loop and pulling it under the wraps by the tag end.

Lechwe

I have been using and still prefer the method McDave has in his video. I don't care that it's not adjustable but I really like that it is lower profile and just very neat in appearance.

Thanks Dave

Just buy a new string from Allen at Tenring strings and he'll put them on for you. LOL

It is pretty easy to do yourself though. I can even do it with my fat fingers.

BCY makes a nock point tying thread that works very well.  It's a coated nylon, and one spool will last most folks a LONG time.

.030 Halo and .032 Power Grip also work very well.  I like Ryan (S2's) knot.  Quick, easy, and adjustable.

I've also used ome BCY bow fishing line. It's a bit fatter than any of my serving thread and makes a substantial nock point that adjusts easily if you like them a bit bigger. I expect that spool will last me a couple of lifetimes   :)

I also use 6-8 overhand knots, but I tie them opposite each other, so I end up with 3-4 in each side, makes a nice nock point, then I add a drop of fly tying cement. I've been using 30# Dacron, Ice fishing line.
