I just received my new 7 Lakes Carolina Night longbow from Mike Ballinger.  68", 59@28, actionboo core with bubinga and spalted maple spliced veneers (from Troy Breeding) under clear glass with a bubinga riser and bubinga tip overlays, it has about 3/4" of reflex.  Just a stunning bow that shoots like a dream-very mild mannered, well behaved, and strong shooting.  Yes, I did open my present early, or maybe late-my birthday was last week, Christmas this week.

Very Nice!  I've been eyeing Mike's bows for some time.  They always have great reviews and look fantastic!

Ahhh,7 Lakes.
Mike made me a bow and now have 7 deer harvests with it.
Great guy. He even put my pic on his website (if you want to see what Legolas really looks like).
That is a special bow.

Thank you Phil, I love building these "Carolina Nights."  We can also thank Troy Breeding for the Bubinga and Spalted Maple veneers.

PS
My birthday is on Dec. 23.  I've found if you don't open the birthday presents early people start counting them as Chirstmas presents also...   :)

Mike,

I was always asked "Do you want your big present for Birthday or Christmas?"  Until my sophomore year in high school, I was always the youngest (Dec 16).  That year we got a new guy, his birthday is Dec 23.

Thanks, Troy.  I feel especially lucky to have 2 artisans, you and Mike, working together to make me such a gorgeous bow.
