Sorry, I posted on the wrong thread. Good stuff anyway. Cool mods!

I killed my first trad deer this year with a D4  shot from a 43# Thunderchild, on the front of a 535 Gold Tip. Spray was three feet from where he was hit, travelled 60-70 yards. [/IMG]   [/IMG]   "

A fellow PBS member offered to teflon coat broadheads with purple in memory of former PBS president Larry Fischer, who was victim of pancreatic cancer. Purple is the awareness color for that cancer. Several of us had the broadheads done, others carried a bit of purple into the filed when hunting.

I never got to know him Terry, but have benefited greatly from the folk he knew and influenced. I would have liked to break bread with him I'm sure.

CAUTION...Use extreme care if you shoot a Delta, 2 or 4 blade.  They are deadly!

Started out with Zwickey eskimo 2 blade 28 years ago when I went back to traditional bows. Then went to  Zwickey Delta 2 blade , then onto 160 Snuffers, 125 160 200gr Grizzlys, then 4 blade Deltas and finally shot a deer with a Simmons Treeshark.  I always bounced back to Delta 2 and 4 blade as my favorite.  Fun to try different well made heads, which they all are.  Deltas sharpen easy,  have a great ferrell to spin perfect on wood or metal adapters.  Now I usually fill my quiver with 2 blade Deltas and put two 4 blade Deltas as bookends. I always put a tanto tip on them.  Never had one fail.

Roy Schmidt

Gordydog... What's a tanto tip? Sorry new guy here reading and learning as much as I can.

Hey Roy, he is referring to the type of tip on the broadheads. Still a pointy edge, but it's more of a pyramind. Pm me your phone # and I can send you a picture for reference if you'd like
