Would there be any problem re-chopping some higher profile 4" shield cut feathers into 4" parabolic?  I have a mess of them and prefer parabolic.  Might be worth the investment in a parabolic chopper if they would turn out ok.

Shouldn't be a problem.  I've rechopped feathers before with good success.

Thanks Mike, gonna order a chopper then.

I would use a burner instead of a chopper. Just in case the heights are different. The burner is modifiable where the chopper may not be. The down side.... Cost, so if you know someone with a burner... Hit them up.

I have re chopped feathers as well. I have the Vario chopper which holds the quill to the base of chopper. Makes it easier.

I have a ton of 5" feather that re-chop down to 4" all the time.

The Vario and Little Chopper have some adjustment.  Shouldn't be a problem.

I made up some 2" fletching for my granddaughter's little arrows. 4" was the smallest I could find locally, so I put a spacer in the chopper to keep them uniform and they came out fine.

Well, just a quick update. I found a 4" left wing para chopper at a local archery shop. It was the only one they had and was just what I needed. It had been gathering dust for a lot of years so they were happy to sell it for 19.00.  It works great so I am changing 150 4" shields to 3 7/8 paras.
