Some of my grandkids have expressed an interest archery.  I would like to get them started. The oldest is nine.

Do any of you have experience with lightweight longbow kits?  I would like to have them basically complete -except for finishing, and hoping to end up with a little better quality than the cheap starter kits at the box stores.

I have nine grandkids now, so  unfortuanately price is an issue.

If we have any sponsors here who offer something like this, or any of you have suggestions where to start, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you .
Thanks, Gary

Thanks Graps, hoping to support a sponsor with the business if possible.

Look into the Back Yard Bowyer vids on uTube. With 9 grandkids PVC bows may be the way to go.

I have a friend who makes them for the kids in his church. By the time he adds wood recurves and wood colored paint to them you can't tell them from a selfbow from a distance.

Skeptical at first, I have to say these bows shoot as good or better than the solid fiberglass bows of my youth.

Gary,

Take a look at the U-Finsh blanks by Mike Ballenger at 7 Lakes Archery.  Mike is a sponsor...  quality product by a true craftsman.
