I've had good luck with muck boots here in tx. Water proof, scent proof and warm. Funny story for those that think it doesn't get cold in the south, my brother ( who lives in Sheridan Wy. where we grew up) comes down every year in February and we hog hunt for a whole week. We do a lot of hunting at night over feeders with lights. 3 yrs ago I told him to dress warm. He brought the same clothes he elk hunts in. Second night out it was 23 degrees. And with our humidity he couldn't stop shivering. Said it's the coldest he's ever been!  I know, I know, it's a different cold and I've personally seen it -27 degrees. But yes it does get cold in the south especially when your sitting still all day in a stand.  Anyways,  sorry to get off track and good luck staying warm!

I where an uninsulated boot with a good wool sock. I found my feet where getting cold because they sweating on the walk in.

I need to try antiperspirant like Legolas has mentioned.

Depends on the person, location and etc. .......

Way up on Mauna Loa it can be forty degrees cooler than down on the beach..

Dry, breathable, seperated from the ground are always warmer.

Wool socks will go a long way, But, Be sure there is space in the boots you choose. If you have tight footwear the cold is conducted through easier and circulation is affected.

Otherwise, I agree with what a lot of you have suggested and until I experienced 22 degress; in Hawaii..I would have not understood southern folks getting cold, either.

How about using some foot or toe warmers. They last about 4 hours.

I understand completely. I live in central Texas and normally don't have real cold...till this year. When it gets 30 or less, we start shivering and can't stop...and if the wind is blowing...it's all over.

I have decided to get it over with and buy a pair of those pac boots with the felt liners and enjoy my hunting without my feet going numb.

We have a long season, and I hunt other places too so it makes sense.

If your feet are cold, then your feet are cold and it don't matter where you live. Some of the coldest I have ever been were in places down south....

Even a relatively inexpensive Pak Boot should do it for Florida when combined with a good wool sock.

I hunt and guide there all Winter and I know it can get into the 20s sometimes.

I would just order a cheaper pair from Cabelas or Bass Pro and be sure it is one size larger than normal.

Tight boots are cold.

Let us know how your choice turns out. I am having more trouble with cold as the years go by.  As I get older, particularly with diabetes, it does not take especially low temperatures to be very uncomfortable.

In northern lower Michigan, it get's pretty darned cold.  I'm spending more time on the ground now and that helps a lot versus being in a tree.  I like to sit for 4 hours if at all possible.  I wear Sorel boots with wool felt liners. Also, get a set up wool insole liners from Chuck at Two Tracks. I believe on average it adds an hour to my sit time because it provides an extra layer of protection between the bottom of my feet and ground/metal treestand.  Well worth the minimal investment.

I live in central Florida..but I spend at least 2-4 weeks each year hunting in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky etc. Just last week in Ohio my Rocky Blizzard Stalkers blew out above the heel..both boots same day..I had 3 more days to hunt and they held together good enough to hunt.. I too will be looking for new boots. I got the Rocky's in 2002.
