Sadly for 170 workers of  the company with trademark on Dymondwood and Bears supplier burned to the ground the other day. What will Bear do next? Is there enough supply at Bear for new orders? This is a local to me company that I know employees who are jobless. Sad this has happened in an area where jobs are slim.

Sad to hear surely. Many other bowyers have been using Dymondwood too, some of them exclusively.

Hopefully they were insured and will rebuild and help the employees until a new facility can start operation.

Hope for the best for the families affected in this area.

+1. There is plenty of demand for it.

  Hadn't heard that! Hopefully they do get it rebuilt and back up and running.

The state is moving in to help push through unemployment for the employees. And yes, the demand for Dymondwood is waaaay outside archery alone. I see it coming back with time and a rebuild.

The same company also makes Actionwood.

Now traditional archers will just face a bow shortage for a while.  I suspect that most builders have a stock pile.
If you were thinking of a new bow, now is the time to order it....

Maybe some of the woods that used to be popular will enjoy a revival.

Hate to see something like that happen.

Sad to see, I pulled guard duty there last night from 1800 until midnight, numerous old timers who worked there a long time drove by. The place looks like a scene from Stalingrad only smaller, 170 jobs lost in an already suffering community rife with drugs and unemployment. Hope they can rebuild.
