Was wondering if anyone has hunted on Fort Carson before, and if so how was your luck?

Yep. A long time ago when my bro was stationed their.  1993 I think.  Only for one day.  No luck.

I was stationed there for ten years, up untll 09. Great deer hunting, decent elk hunting, but dealing with range control to get out there to hunt is a pain in the rear. Even for active duty troops.

I hunted for turkeys a few yrs. ago. ALOT of turkeys. I got 5 shots in 3 days, missed all three. Had a great time hunting, driving the jeep and tank roads in my mini-van. Really nice country too. My son was with me, he enjoyed the military stuff. One morning when it was still dark out, we where driving to our unit to hunt and we got pulled over by the MP's. I was driving with my lights ON. I guess thats a no no when they might be training.

Also there is an unbelievable archery range across from the fort on Hwy. 115. Cheyenne Mountain State Park. Field range and 3D's.
