I need to order a couple of strings. It's been a while and it's a little confusing with all of the options: 8190, 8125, 8125G, Ultracam, etc. What is your favorite and why?

Thank You!

I like 452X because it seems to have the best combination of speed, durability and stability for me. Additionally, it seems to be the quietest material on "most" of my bows. Having said that, I haven't tried BCY X yet but I hear it may even be better.
Take care,
Jason

I like 8190 but I get a great deal on it... If I am not mistaken the Ultracam is either out of production or about to be.

I really like the ones you guys mentioned.  8125 and 452x make nice strings.  Of late my new fav is Rhino since I first tried it on a Centaur.  It's just super stuff.  Quiet, has a real nice softness to it physically and is durable without needing excessive waxing.  Rock solid and once you shoot it some and set your brace it doesn't budge.   I will probably try some X someday, heard great things.

BCY-X without a doubt.  I used (and liked) Dynaflight '97, 8125, 450+, and 8190.

We have two basic types of high performance material.  100% HMPE and HMPE blends.

Formerly, with the blends (450+, 452X) durability was decreased and colors weren't as bright.  With 100% HMPE, it's not as stable, especially in higher temperatures.

X is the best of both worlds.  Very stable, very durable, great color retention, quiet...doesn't get any better.

The others I mentioned are still good materials--the X is just better.

I am with LBR.  BCY-X without a doubt.

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

BD

Who are you guys buying strings from that have the BCY-X?

It's not on my site yet, but I do have it.  You can use the 8190 order form and just make a note that you want X.  Hope to have it on my site soon.

I guess I'm old school/new school...many years ago I switched to 450+.  With a stock of more material than I'll ever use making strings, I have no reason to switch again.

like D97 & never had a problem with it.

BCY-X, no doubt the fastest, quietest, most durable, and most stable string material I've used. It's really good stuff!
