I am shooting a 50@27 56" zipper sxt longbow. It is cut 1/8th past center. I draw 26".  My arrows I am currently shooting are 29.25 inch gt trad 35/55's with 50 grain brass and 150 grain tip.  Fletched shafts fly fantastic. Bareshafts not so much...Anyone shooting a similar set up? and what are you shooting arrow wise?

I have tried bareshafting and for some reason every single arrow I shoot appears stiff.  I have shot 1916's, 35/55's, 2018's, CE 150s all with various point weights and lengths and every shaft appears stiff...what am I doing wrong?

Sounds like a release issue or grip. That arrow should shoot well as I shoot same specs. Feathers do a good job of guiding especially with higher FOC, but a bare shaft will show minor user errors. Believe me I have struggled with the same.

I would focus on form and roll with it personally! If my fletched arrows appear to fly well and pass through game I'm happy.

what arrows are you shooting out of your thunderchild?  I recently acquired a a 54" 53@26 thunderchild and 30" 2018's with 125s and 145s were showing weak! like...way weak. and a 29" was weak.  I feel like I have a good release and the fletched shafts go where I am looking but bare shafts are a whole new ball game.

FWIW,
My arrows for my 51# shrew CH were 28.75" 62# -65# Sitka Spruce with 160 STOS Heads or CE 150's with a little  200-250 grns up front.

I agree with the above post about your grip or form  being the problem. For awhile this spring just about any arrow I had looked weak from my longbow including 340 FMJ and 80-85 wood shafts  out of my   60 longbow.  Totally a form issue for me.  I followed the guy's advise from the  Black Widow video (Beck?). He said he uses a bare shaft arrow all the time to check his form.

I am shooting a 28 1/2" CE 150 heritage with 50gr insert and 200 gr point out of my thunderchild and it throes darts... when my form is correct. I struggle with its grip so it can be hit or miss with bareshaft, but with 5" shields they do well.

I agree with the above statement. I personaly use bare shaft very little. I will use it when my form is sloppy and needs a tune up. or when I get new arrows and will sling a couple to make sure they arent to far off spine wise.

Yes, form is the most likely culprit.  shoot a bare arrow in the group with your fletched ones. see what happens..
