Where is the best place online to buy a good map? I'm assuming I'd need a topo map. Looking to scout out some new public land and want to go deep in using a map/compass.

mytopo.com      you can build pretty much anything you want, even specific game units. Great waterproof maps.

I second Apex. They can build you a map of any area and put the boundary lines so you know where you can go and cannot. Very reasonable prices.
