If you are looking for a great way to bowfish at night with out boat lights check out my video below. I have a great homemade light mount for on the bow. and also a great headlamp set up i show in the video.

As many of you know Bowfishing is one of my biggest passions and something i do about 100 times a year. This bow light/ headlamp combo is my favorite of any i have ever used. Heck even though 99% of my fishing is from a boat with lights I still use the bow mounted light to shoot fish that swim out of my boat lights every single night im out there.

the eagletac i use is about 60 bucks.
its called a dc25l clicky eagle tac.

It is the perfect amount of flood/spot pattern for bowfishing. my buddy bought a fenix and its great but too tight of a spot light beam. my zebralight is to floody for shooting. the eagle tac is perfect.

really great video. thanks a bunch for sharing. you are right that bow fishing is an absolute blast! one of the things i like so much about it is that i learn something new every time i do it. and every time i watch a video on it, i learn some new trick or tactic.

bravo!

Do you use the same make of light (800 lumens) on the bow and in the headband?

you can!
I actually use the single cell eagle tac (400 lumens) in the headband strap. It doesnt stick out as far and doesnt eat battieres as fast when scanning waters. then when i see a fish i can hit the button on the bow light (800 lumens) and shoot.

For the headband: eagle tac DC25C 400 lumens single cr123 battery. Fenix headband.

For the bow: eagle tac DC25LC2  800 lumens 2 cr123 batteries. home made bracket.

Thanks Jason, I do a lot of bowfishing along the Grand River. I am a Machinist and make a lot of my own contraptions. I like the mount on the bow, very simple and economical.

Thanks!
I have not fished the Grand yet, or any of the west side of the state. My buddy Stephen lives over there and fishes all over that side and says its awesome fishing! The michigan sportsman forum has a bowfishing section and there are a ton of west siders on there that fish the same areas as you. Also a lot of BAM shoots over that way too. You are surrounded by great fishing areas!
