Saw a recent roadkill while going down Wellman this morning and it is (was)a small buck still with it's antlers. Seems kind of late doesn't it?

I saw a decent 3x4 last night.  Every year it seems like I see one this late.

I understand that a lot of it depends upon the individual deer.  Like you, I occasionally see one with antlers in the first week of April.  However, years ago I shot one that had dropped his antlers in the second week of December.

Ive definetly seen them with antlers in March, not sure if ive seen any this late. At the other end of the spectrum a buddy of mine shot a real nice 9 pt with slug gun this year on Monday after Thanksgiving that ran 50 yards fell over and both horns fell off! Right there next to his head in wide open woods!

Do a search, there is a lot posted here on this phenomena...
