I'd like to dye the hood of my great northern quiver a walnut or darker brown color. Any suggestions ?

Fiebings is the brand most widely used. Tandy sells Fiebings and their own brand which is made by Fiebings. I usually buy mine from Springfieldleather.com. The light brown, tan, medium brown all tend to have a very red hue when used on veg tanned leather. Chocolate brown will come the closest to a true brown. Buy a few colors and test them. On the first pass, I cut the dye 50% with denatured alcohol which helps avoid streaks and brush strokes, you can then add additional coats of varying strengths of dye until you get what you like. Bottom line: test, test, test.
