Can you take string follow out of a hill syle long bow .my bow laying flat on its back has measurement from top tip is 2 inches. And the bottom tip is 1 1/2 inches. When strung up the tiller is a 1/4 inch more on top where riser fades out
Or is this normal? My bow is a 1986 the stick made by martin archery 55#@28 .I havent been able to see or put my hands on another one to compare. Are they supposed to flat or are they supposed to have a curve to them?
2014 custom 64 inch Martin Savanna 50 #@28 ,1986 Martin The Stick 55#@28,2013 Greatree GT Hawk takedown 45#@28,1969 Indian archery Hawkeye 55#@28,1969 Cochise Indian archery 40#@28. It's good to be alive unless your a squirrel !

Sounds about right if it was designed that way. Though 2" of follow is extreme in my opinion.

Ted Fry at Raptor Archery was putting together information on Martin/Howatt bows, you might send him an email.

I don't think you can take the string follow out of a glass laminated bow.I pretty sure the Martin Stick should be flat.I had one and it was straight.Have you owned since new? It may have been left strung in a hot condition and taken a set?

Tiller is about right.  Never known a Martin to be a string follow bow.  I agree with Charlie.  It does seem extreme, regardless.  Nope.  Can't remove the string follow. Time to look for another bow, perhaps.  Good luck.
