BroadHead Question

How do Most of You Glue on Your BroadHeads in Relationship to the String, or Does it Matter??  :confused:  
 Since this is "My Very First BroadHead Endeavor", I just wondered how You "Seasoned Hunters" Handle the Orientation of the Blade. I am Using 2 Blade Grizzlies too.

I "believe" that I have noticed that with 2 blades they should be mounted horizontal to the string.  This way they effect the arrow less when going thru the initial archers paradox.  I "know" that whichever way you mount them, they should all be mounted the same. Larger groups will result if they are not.

A native american friend once told me " Straight up and down (vertical)for hunting flat(horizontal) for war" . Always seemed like a good enough rule of thumb to me.

I mount mine perpendicular (straight up and down to the string)to the nock notch. That way when I draw my bow and the back of the head just touches my finger on my bow hand I know I am at full draw. Just the way I have always done it.

I've used 2 blade heads for years and finally settled on a 1:30 - 7:30 orientation. It keeps all portions of the broadhead out of my field of vision when drawing down on a target and canting the bow. Just be sure to spin test them once mounted. JMHO... Dave

What Hatrick said.  I use black diamonds.  If I mound them any other way they will take off on me.

If your arrows are tuned properly it is nothing more than personal preference.

I've purposely glued them at all different angles to see if it made a difference. As long as they spin true, they fly fine.

Line mine up with the nock index,which way is that horizontal to the ground. 90deg to the string?? My #1 reason for doing it is to get them to fit into my 5 arrow bowquiver with out the feathers touching if you mount them any old way you would need to cut new slots into your bowquiver insert everytime,and besides that the way I have always mounted them.

I mount heads so they spin true. It doesn't matter, to me, weather they are vertical, horizontal or diagional as long as they spin true. When I mount stone or trade points I usually go vertical. I line up the string nock with the slot for the head.    Pat

Hmmmmmm, Looks to be a "Spin Good, Mount Them However I Like" Answer to my Question.     I thought about using my Crester as a Spinner. It Should Tell me  REAL  quick if anything is Out of Kilter, Right? Does anyone else do this, or do you have the Special Arrow Spinner Tool?   :confused:

Main reason to mount horizontal is to keep the BH out of your line of sight.
