I have a Bear K-Mag that I just can't get to tune.  I tried off the shelf, feather rest, flipper rest, you pretty much name it I tried. This is a 45# @ 28 and I pull to 29". I checked the tiller and it is a 1/4" longer on the top limb. My issue is not spine of arrow as it is nock set. I always get a nock high reading thru paper. Any ideas ? I did a search but came up empty.   :dunno:    :dunno:    :dunno:   Thanks Don

This may be a silly question, but have you played with the placement of your nocking point?

I know it's similar to asking someone if they plugged it in before trying to turn it on, but you never know!

How's it look without the paper?

tradgreenhorn

I have had the nocking point all the way for 1/8 to 1.0. It shows nock high thru paper. The wife wants to go shopping so I will be back in about 2 hours. Go figure.  :banghead:    :banghead:

3 under or split  one or two nock set?

tradgreenhorn

split finger two nock set, nocks fit with just a tap on the string.

Try rotating your nocks for better fletch clearance.

A little nock high with an unfletched shaft is not necessarily a problem.

In my back stop it shows nock high from about 8 yards.

K-mags are short bows and you have a long draw.  Difficult to get off the string cleanly.  May be something in your form that doesn't show up with longer bows. Grip on the string could be vertically torquing it, for example.

I have a K-Mag but only draw to 27. Shoots 3555s wonderfully off the shelf and with a home made feather rest.

My guess is you may be putting too much tension on the ring finger when drawing. Also pay attention to how you grip the bow. Make minor changes and see what your results are.

I have gotten mine tuned to shoot cock feather in or out without seeing any difference in arrow flight. If the arrow does do something weird it's because of me doing something wrong.

Gradgreenhorn this might sound a little crazy but I was having the same problem with my wife's bow. And I too tried off the shelf , flipper rest , played with the nock had her shoot split , three under and still nock high. Turned arrow so the cock feather is facing the sight window and problem gone. Try adjusting the arrow nock so that the fletching make minimum contact with the self. Hope this helps.

You using brass nock sets? I switched to tie on string and my arrows smoothed out noticeably
