A while back I was given a 58" Damon Howatt Bandito recurve 45# at 28". I just had some strings made up and was wondering about the brace height. Thanks ahead for any suggestions

Fishnhunt

Got pics? Howatt made some beautiful bows.
I'd say brace b/t 7.3 - 8.0

Stumpkiller

As a rule of thumb the starting brace height is 1/8th of the AMA length: 7-1/4" for your 58" bow.  Tighten it up as needed for arrow flight, noise reduction and point of impact adjustment.
