Hello Gang,

I started hunting WMAs last year in the late season, I know some decent spots I could show folks but really need to learn the area and plan on doing some late season hunting/scouting there this year. Just wanted to know if anyone wanted to join me? If you can't join me please let me know if you are interested in the future.
I mostly bowhunt with my younger brother but would love to get a group together and do some pushes.
It would be great to tag team and share some information with another trad hunter (or compound). If nothing else just for safety having someone know my location ect.

I would also be interested in hunting other WMAs if anyone is already.

I don't live in OK, but I would be interested in a future hunt.  Always up for trying new / different places, and since I am now retired, I might have time as well.   Maybe during next fall.

What is the terrain like at that WMA ?

It's in Osage county not far from Pawhuska...just a few miles from the KS line. I have seen some big bucks in this area after gun season.

I have hunted it a few times some years ago. Once was a premier turkey hunting property but that has fell off the last couple years. Big deer there for sure, one of the few places I know where you could be on a hill and not see a light in any direction. I hear hogs have move in, maybe the reason turkeys have decreased.

I just Moved to Guthrie last month from the Pacific Northwest. Haven't met any Oklahoma archers yet. Couldn't do it this year but would be very interested next year!

When about are you thinking of doing this..?

Michael Arnette

I plan on hunting next weekend into Monday 7th-9th and then again the following weekend 14th-16th. I will be hunting morning and evening and will be scouting during mid day. This area also has some good bobwhite quail habitat. I'll be bringing my shotgun while scouting since I often bump up quail.
After Christmas ill be over seas until the season closes. I am limited out for bucks this year so I will be a driver if we get enough folks for a push.

Paul/KS

Gotta work. Good hunting.
Maybe next year..?
