Hello gang,

I recently purchased a new, late-model Bear Takedown that seems to have developed a creak in the last inch of draw (29"). It seems to be in the pockets. Has anyone else had this problem or have a remedy?

I have had this problem before. I used a layer of cork between the limb and riser and that solved the problem. The cork would compress after awhile and have to be replaced. I then went to a rubber material that seems to hold up great.

I have a bow now that I am going to try using self-stick velcro (the fuzzy side) but since I have not tried it yet, I cannot say if it will work well or not.

I've had the same problem with a 2009 model. Drove me nuts. I waxed the pockets and added fuzzy Velcro to the underside of the metal latch. Works well but as stated above you may have to reapply all after a while.

Put string wax on the locator pins.

Thanks for all the replies. I heavily waxed everything on the limb butts where any contact is made with the riser and the sound is gone. I only put about 200 shots through it since waxing and it has kept it quiet.
