A rant about a tv show that is a disservice to bowhunters.

Hit man.  yup, me too.  I really hate a few things extra bad.  

1) when they take a really stupid shot and say " I had to take that shot, it was the only one it gave me".  WRONG.  not taking a shot is choice B.

2) when they make a very obviously bad hit (and that happens a lot), and have the cahonies to look at you in the camera and say " that was a good hit", then they cut and paste to show them recovering a deer.

3) I am really not thrilled with the laughing and jumping, fist pumping, stupid remarks etc.

So I don't watch them anymore.  Better for my own blood pressure.

I wouldnt bash all "Hunting shows" just becouse of one. While some shows have bad host, and bad shots ect not all. I can speek from experience, becouse My dad has been on several, including the last few monster bucks dvds. He takes only ethical shots, and puts all the time in him self. He works full time here an tn, and travells out of state to hunt. He has to patern the deer , hang stands, and get the job done in a week. If he cant, well he has o come back when he can and try again. He has ate more then a few $400 non resident tags, becouse he couldnt get a good shot, or the deer on film or both. Not chump change i might add, for our family as he does not recieve ANY money from doing this. He does it becouse he Loves the sport. I know no one singled him out ect, but just wanted to state they are not all jerks.

I don't often enjoy watching a TV hunt because of the hype and crap they seem to think makes good viewing . I can't help but think that most of it is scripted . The thing that gets me is the reactions after they shoot , like hyperventilating and acting like they just found out they hit the lottery . And when a non hunter sees that garbage we all get lumped into that same package .   :mad:

I have been told by a friend that worked in the ammo industry and had the opportunity to be in camps where many of these deer porn films were being filmed that many of those "GIANT" bucks killed on film are pen raised kill bucks .

 In my opinion deer farms are one of the worst things that have happened to deer hunting. 30 years ago who'da thunk you could order up a B&C buck ..................8^(

It can be long agreed that much of what is on TV is a detriment in its current to good ethics and the morals of the sport. It is industry lead there is no doubt.

Lets go hunting what do you all say that way we will spend less time around the TV.
