if you were using a 150 grain field point on a carbon arrow and then switched to a 150 broadhead that is twice the length of the field point...wouldnt that actually weaken the spine of the arrow.... im tuning with broadheads , so im ok.... but i was just curious...thanks..

My experience has shown that in general, the shaft with the broadhead needs to be about 1/4 to 3/4" shorter. We have tuned many bows and have learned that this varies with the bow and the shooter. It seems that if the shaft is tuned slightly stiff when shooting field points, and the shooter has a good release, the same length shaft can be used. But most of the time, for perfect broadhead flight, a slightly shorter shaft is needed.
