Love my Dwyer Endeavor...But my shoulder doesn't!

Ugh...

So, I just got my new Dwyer Endeavor a couple of weeks ago (there's some pictures I posted in PowWow when I got it). After seven months of waiting...Beautiful...Stunning...Amazing. And I've been shooting it. And shooting it. And it's dead on accurate and a lot of fun.

For the most part.

I'm not sure what the deal is, but for some reason I'm really struggling with the draw weight- 59# at 28 inches (I pull around 26). It's hardly anymore than the bow I was shooting, but whatever it is, I'm just really having a hard time with it. Almost to the point of not wanting to shoot it anymore and instead going back to my old longbow.

Any suggestions on how to handle this? Is it a matter of just building up to it? I don't want to hurt my shoulder...

Could be something has changed in your form ever so slightly. Try to pay attention when you shoot your old bow and the new one to see if it has.

Don't forget to use the back muscles.

Tubbs, maybe you just need to take a little break? I don't know how many shots you take during practice sessions and how often you shoot it, but maybe you just need a break?   :dunno:

I can't shoot everyday because of school and other obligations but when i get to travel home for holidays i bring my bow and shoot it for hours and hours everyday, after about three days of this I start to feel pretty tired.... I give it a break for a few days and then come back feeling a lot stronger.

Just my 2 cents.

Good luck!

I'd just take a break.  My endeavor was a smooth drawing and shooting bow.  Good luck.

Yeah- I think you guys are right about taking a break...just took two days off and shot tonight. Feels much better! Learned an important lesson tonight I guess- "put the bow down and walk away"!

Guess I just needed a little encouragement!

And just as a p.s. I do love the bow. The Dwyers are awesome people too- great to work with on getting a bow.
